The Florida Breweries Report – October 2019
A whopping 11 new Florida breweries were added in October 2019.
Monthly Highlights
- Eleven new Florida breweries in October 2019: Salty Oak Brewing Co. (Panama City), Unbranded Brewing Co. (Hialeah), King Maker Brewing (Jacksonville), Strings Sports Brewery (Jacksonville), Odd Colony Brewing Co. (Pensacola), LaBelle Brewing Co. (LeBelle), Riverview 14 GDX (Gibsonton), Wolf Branch Brewing Co. (Mount Dora), Bully Brewing (Leesburg), 3 Car Garage Brewing Co. (Bradenton), and Anecdote Brewing Co. (Indian Rocks Beach).
- No Florida brewery upgraded from a brewpub license (CMBP) to a production brewery license (CMB) in October 2019. Breweries with a CMB license can start fill growlers, sell bottled or canned products for consumption off premises, and sell to licensed distributors. Where a brewery upgrades its license, the tables below denote the CMBP license with * and the CMB license with ^.
- In October 2019, the total number of licensed breweries stood at 383. Of those, 359 breweries reported taxpaid sales in October.
- Month-to-month taxpaid sales increased by 3.52% in October 2019. Total taxpaid sales during the rolling last-twelve-months (LTM) rose by 0.29%. Compared to October 2018, LTM taxpaid sales were up by 9.04% in October 2019.
- For reporting breweries, the average taxpaid sales per brewery in October 2019 was 25.84 barrels, a monthly increase of 0.88 barrels per brewery.
- In October 2019, Florida breweries’ taxpaid sales accounted for 0.78% of all beer sales in Florida (7.8 out of 1,000 beers sold).
