The Florida Breweries Report – June 2020
Florida Brewers’ taxpaid sales for June 2020 were off from one year ago by less than 10%.
Monthly Highlights
- The Florida Breweries Report reflects data published by the Florida ABT, which is available online here. The ABT monthly publishes the taxpaid sales for each brewery and distributor. Unfortunately, the ABT does not publish breweries’ sales to distributors. This means that the Florida Breweries Reports reflects only breweries’ taxpaid sales, which are generally made in its taproom.
- Four new Florida breweries in June 2020: Three Odd Guys Brewing (Apopka), Double Branch Artisanal Ales (Wesley Chapel), Brighter Days Brew Co. (Tarpon Springs), and Grand Central Brewhouse (St. Petersburg).
- No breweries upgraded from a brewpub license (CMBP) to a production brewery license (CMB) in June 2020. Breweries with a CMB license can start fill growlers, sell bottled or canned products for consumption off premises, and sell to licensed distributors. Where a brewery upgrades its license, the tables below denote the CMBP license with * and the CMB license with ^.
- In June 2020, the total number of licensed breweries stood at 402. Of those, 365 breweries reported taxpaid sales in June.
- Month-to-month taxpaid sales increased by 5.00% in June 2020. Total taxpaid sales during the rolling last-twelve-months (LTM) fell by 0.62%. Compared to June 2019, LTM taxpaid sales were down by 4.92% in June 2020.
- For reporting breweries, the average taxpaid sales per brewery in June 2020 was 22.72 barrels, a monthly increase of 1.43 barrels per brewery.
- In June 2020, Florida breweries’ taxpaid sales accounted for 0.66% of all beer sales in Florida (6.6 out of 1,000 beers sold).
