Ten new breweries in December 2019 cap year that saw 75 new Florida breweries.
Monthly Highlights
- Ten new Florida breweries in December 2019: Holy Mackerel (Wilton Manors), Unseen Creatures Brewing & Blending (Miami), Emerald Republic Brewing Company (Pensacola), Barriehaus Beer Co. ( Tampa), Big Hammock Brewery and Bites (Ocala), Fort Walton Brewing Company (Fort Walton Beach), Liquid Garage Co. (New Port Richey), Bayboro Brewing Co. (St. Petersburg), Five Branches Brewing (Tarpon Springs), and The Joinery (Lakeland).
- One Florida brewery upgraded from a brewpub license (CMBP) to a production brewery license (CMB) in December 2019: Unrefined Brewing (Tarpon Springs). Breweries with a CMB license can start fill growlers, sell bottled or canned products for consumption off premises, and sell to licensed distributors. Where a brewery upgrades its license, the tables below denote the CMBP license with * and the CMB license with ^.
- In December 2019, the total number of licensed breweries stood at 373 (this number has been updated to reflect breweries that are now defunct). Of those, 366 breweries reported taxpaid sales in December.
- Month-to-month taxpaid sales increased by 3.49% in December 2019. Total taxpaid sales during the rolling last-twelve-months (LTM) rose by 0.14%. Compared to December 2018, LTM taxpaid sales were up by 4.27% in December 2019.
- For reporting breweries, the average taxpaid sales per brewery in December 2019 was 26.48 barrels, a monthly increase of .51 barrels per brewery.
- In December 2019, Florida breweries’ taxpaid sales accounted for 0.80% of all beer sales in Florida (8.0 out of 1,000 beers sold).
