Florida legislature Passed One Bill Affecting the Beverage Industry
The 2025 session of the Florida Legislature featured a number of bills proposing to change Florida’s alcoholic beverage laws. The regular session ended May 2, 2025 (a special session is expected to pass the state’s budget. One consensus bill passed both houses of the Florida Legislature and is now on its way for signature by the governor. The other bills did not get passed out of committee.
2025 Beverage Bills: Post-Session Summary
Bill Authorizes Single-Use Wine Kegs
The Florida Legislature passed CS/SB 578 and sent it to the Governor for signature. This bill allows the sale of wine in any container holding 5.16 gallons. Current law allows for the sale of wine 5.16 gallons containers only if they are reusable. Under current law, wine may also be sold in large-format glass containers holding 4.5 liters, 9 liters, 12 liters, or 15 liters of wine.
